A true mark of Christian leadership, but a command directed at all believers, is that they practice hospitality. Of course, hospitality has fallen out of favor today in modern Western society -- including the church. The individualism of our self-centered, fast-paced culture has pervaded our local churches, sapping them of the vitality of true Christian community and fellowship. This stands in stark contrast to the commands of Scripture and the testimony of the early church, which was known throughout the pagan world for its generous hospitality.
